Welcome to the Australasian Carnivorous Plant Society home page.
The Australasian Carnivorous Plant Society is a non-profit organisation formed in December 2002 to promote the cultivation, conservation and knowledge about carnivorous plants.
Carnivorous plants are found throughout the world, from the tropics to the arctic region. You will even find several species of Drosera and Utricularia growing in and around Sydney. Hence there are carnivorous plants to suit all climates and everyone should be able to grow at least one if not many different types of carnivorous plants. Contrary to popular belief most carnivorous plants, given the right conditions, are not difficult to grow.
The Society boasts a vibrant and energetic membership dedicated to growing carnivorous plants, learning about carnivorous plants and sharing this knowledge with others.
The Society aims to increase the availability of plants and seed, through the Society's Seed Bank, trade of plants at meetings, regular swap meets and free space on this web-page to members wanting to buy, swap or sell plants.
Our Society's monthly meetings provide an excellent opportunity to meet other carnivorous plant growers and engage in informal discussion. Presentations and videos shown at our meetings share the wealth of knowledge our members have with others and often spark lively discussion.

The Society publishes two "Carniflora" Journals per year, providing relevant and informative articles for all carnivorous plant growers. If you are looking for more information try the extensive list of books and journals held by our library.
