| I have created this site as a part of my personal website to share my interests in these strange and facinating plants. These plants lure, catch and digest insect prey because of the place in which they grow in, nutrient free peat, so they catch the insects to make up for the lack of nutrients. Right now, I'm in Bristol Univeristy and haven't had any time to do this website up any better, i'll be starting to stick more information on here real soon --- 16 July 2004 |

| Most known carnivorous plant int the world and the oldest CP I have, I have had my first ever VFT for almost 6 years now during this time it has split again and again i now have 7 plants and some has gone to friend's conservatories and greenhouses. | Sundews, one of the largest families in CP, there's many times of sundews, i like growing them coz they're super easy to look after and grow from seeds. | My favourite CP, unfortunately it grows so slow, i have 2 plants right now, will get another one, i wanna grow tons of these. Very rare and almost extinct and one day it'll only exist in people's homes and greenhouses. Strange little plant, then again all CPs are strange. Information on cultivation click here. |

| This family probably has some of the world's largest CPs and they are certainly one of the most impressive with pitchers that can grow a feet in length and catch litle animals like frogs. I'm new to this family as it takes up room and need humidity which my house don't really have, i have a unknown hybrid in my possession, since i rescued it with its shrivelled leaves from the garden centre for only £2, it's been growing mad, putting pitchers one bigger than the last. | Pings are really neat and most are quite small so they don't much space that's why i like them, they aren't as fragile as they look, these can be weedy and tough little buggers, My collections of pings is growing like mad so i've stopped for now soon when i have more space then i shall collect even more. Best thing about pings is how well leaf cuttings work, pull a leaf and a new plant occurrs in a week. |

| From my little research on CPUK most CP growers collect the most sarracenia, i think this has to do with their hardiness, you can grow some of these outside all year round. I like growing them from seeds although it's quite slow, it's a rewarding experience. And of course see the occasional fly drops itself into the traps, one loud buzz and it's as good as dead. I do not own a lot of sarracenias due to space these plants can grow very tall if given time. |

| These CPs have microscopic traps and are very very easy to grow since they can reproduce from just a single stem with a couple leaves on it and most have pretty little flowers. This family also has majority of the aquatic carnivors, i personally only grow gibba as the algae can be a problem, but my water snails are doing a good job in cleaning the algae. They don't look very attractive unless flowering and take up lots of space so i only have a few right now. |

| I barely started to grow this species with a small one from Langy, i don't know much about them except treat them as highland neps and the pitchers not mature enough to show shape so i haven;t taken a picture yet. Need to do more research in this family to write anything decent. |
