Slides and observations on a selection of carnivorous
plant species in New Caledonia, Australia and South Africa are presented.
Habitat attributes in these areas are outlined, which reveals common aspects
of soil characteristics, underlying geology, plant associations and communities,
and plant-animal interactions between these widely separated locations.
Philosophical ideas on the evolutionary development of these populations
follow. The final part of the talk details suggestions on cultivation
of a selection of species based on field observations.
