These tiny bugs can really bug you and your plants. The best prevention is to quarantine and check very carefully any new plants you get. There is no best, sure-fire cure although it is possible to get rid of them.

Many carnivorous plant growers consider adult fungus gnats a nuisance at worst and a source of food for their small plants at best. However, fungus gnat larvae are a hazard for your plants. They damage and eat plant roots and can damage leaves touching the surface of the soil.
